Jessie Weitzel Le Grand has been teaching since 2011. She has a BFA in sculpture from Pacific Northwest College of Art and a MAT from Marylhurst with an ESOL endorsement. Mrs. Le Grand has taught art for many years. She also taught in the classroom (1st and second and above!) before returning to art this past year after the birth of her daughter. She spends her time outside of work making art and supporting Well Well Projects, the gallery she founded with three other artists. She also loves spending time with her daughter Nina, husband Jeremy and cat Biscuit. Come by the art room to say "hello!"

Classroom Description:
Students at CHPCS study art historical movements from around the world. They also utilize the principles of design and elements of art to create work that reflects their own ideas and imagination. Students are encouraged to develop their visual communication skills to express their own unique viewpoint within a broader community of art makers. Art lessons are meant to support risk taking and experimentation to deepen learning. Although we will appreciate and sometimes critique the final art piece, the journey there is just as important.
