Summer Camps

Dear Falcon Families, 

We are pleased to announce our 2023 summer enrichment programs for enrolled CHPCS students. Teachers have planned half day experiences designed to reinforce skills through thematic fun and games. We encourage our current families to take a look at the offerings and see if there is something that fits both your calendar and your student’s individual needs. If you are unsure of what camps would most benefit your student, teachers are happy to make recommendations. 
 
Quick Facts:
  • Your student must be enrolled at CHPCS in order to participate
  • Grade reflects the grade your student will be in the fall
  • Each course will last one week
  • Morning sessions will be 8 - 11:30 AM
  • Afternoon sessions will be 12:30 - 4 PM
  • If you sign up for both a morning and afternoon session - please send your student with lunch. They will have a chance to eat and have recess between 11:30 and 12:30
  • Each week will cost $150 per child per camp
  • You can sign up for as many sessions as are open and available
  • Classes will be taught by CHPCS teachers
  • Pre-registration is required via Sign Up Genius
  • Payment will be due by June 1st, invoices will be emailed to you. Please email Mrs. Tran if you require any financial aid. 
 
2023 Summer Camp Descriptions
 
Art Camp (1st-4th) 15 students
June 26th-30th (Mrs. Le Grand) morning
Join artist and teacher Jessie Le Grand for a week full of art making! We will explore 2-D and 3-D materials with new projects daily! Sculpt, draw, paint, collage! If you love to make art this is the camp for you. Materials included. 

Open Studio (5th-8th) 15 students
July 10th-14th (Mrs. LeGrand) morning
Join artist and teacher Jessie Le Grand for this open studio format art week. Middle schoolers will be invited to design and create a work of art or series start to finish. Mrs. Le Grand will be there to help all along the way! Come to camp ready to make a painting, sculpture or drawing of your choice! Or all three! Materials included.

Five Senses Camp (1st-3rd) 26 students
July 10th-14th (Ms. Nanni & Ms. Him) morning
Students will explore the five senses in this hands-on five-day camp. We will use fun and exciting science and art activities to practice using our senses of hearing, touch, sight, smell, and taste. Each day will focus on one of our senses. Activities include participating in a blind taste test, making a healthy snack,  going on a scavenger hunt, and many more! Reading, writing, and math will be incorporated into each lesson.

STEAM Camp (1st-3rd) 26 students
July 10th-14th (Ms. Him & Ms. Nanni) afternoon
If you are a K-2 student and are interested in spending a week with Miss Him and Ms. Nanni, and participating in awesome STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) activities, sign up for STEAM camp. Each day will be "themed"; science, technology, engineering, arts, and math but there will be crossover every day. I hope you come to explore the wonderful world of STEAM with us!

Field Day Camp (1st-5th)
July 17th-July 21st (Ms. Pearl and Mr. Gosteli) afternoon
Nothing says summer more than playing outside! In this week-long camp we will focus on play based learning and team building exercise. Everything you would hope for a field day and more. Relay races, obstacle courses, games to strengthen counting and spelling will all come together for one epic week of playing and learning in the beautiful summer sun! Lather your sunscreen and fill up your water bottle, and let the games begin! This camp is perfect for students who love physical activity, sports, and being outdoors!

Arts and Crafts Camp (1st-5th) 20 students
July 17th-July 21st (Ms. Pearl) morning
Get creative with Ms. Pearl in this week-long crafting camp! Students will be given various guided projects from making our own kites and balloon lanterns and their very own hand-sewn stuffed animals! Creativity and passion collide and allow students to explore their imagination while working with friends and teachers crafting the day away! This camp is perfect for students who love to work with their hands making arts and crafts and will end the week with new hand made crafts perfect for gift giving or keeping for themselves!

Pokemon Camp (1st-8th)
July 24th-28th (Mz. Connor and Mr. Gosteli) morning/afternoon
Challenge accepted!  Join Mz. Connor and Mr. G as they go head to head into the Fantasy World of Pokemon! Develop your communication skills while trading cards and playing games. Learn about character development, creating your own Pokemon. Enrich your artistic side using clay, paint and more to design your own action figures. Finally, challenge your Pokemon camp mates during outdoor fitness challenges to find out who is the ultimate trainer!  Campers may join us for the whole day or just half of it.

Science Experiment Camp (2nd-5th) 15 students
July 24th-28th (Ms. Pearl) morning
Step into Ms. Pearl’s science lab and explore the greatest wonders of the natural world! During our week together we spend each day creating new and exciting science experiments that help to create a deeper understanding of the world around us! Together we will create our own volcanoes, water systems and have so much fun gaining a better understanding of our planet's ecosystems. This camp is perfect for students who love a hands-on experience and want to get a little silly while learning more about science!
